Boy's Basketball Home-Opener.
This Friday the Boy's Varsity Basketball Team will start off its season with a home game against the Maderia Mustangs. The Indians look to get revenge on the Mustangs after losing to them in last year's season-opener; the score was 68 to 47. This year Norwood has 7 returning varsity players on the roster and a lot of senior leadership. Don't expect this one to be a repeat of last year's game, the boys are bringing a lot of heart and intensity on Friday. Good Luck guys!

Premier Night at Norwood!
This Friday, November 19, is the third annual Premier Night. There will be games, prizes, and excitement as all winter athletes will be announced. The event is hosted by the Norwood Star (the city's local newspaper). The Varsity basketball teams will scrimmage, there will be a 3-point shootout, and Norwood View looks to defend their title and be awarded the "Spirit Trophy" for the second year in a row. So come out and enjoy yourself for a night of fun and excitement.

Burrrr, its getting cold!
This weekend we start off the winter season. On saturday the boys basketball team has a preseason scrimage against Finneytown at 1:00pm. Varsity will play in the high school gym and JV will be in the middle school fieldhouse at the same time. So come out and support the guys as they look to get things right before the season. On sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals face-off against division rival Pittsburgh. If the bengals can pull off a win in steal city they will win the AFC North title and advance to the playoffs for the first time since 2005 where they lost to pittsburgh. Good luck Bengals.

I Smell Victory!
Get ready norwood fans, because this weekend kicks off with a life or death game for the varsity football team as they face up against divisional rival, the Ross Rams. Last year the Indians crushed the rams in a lop-sided 51-20 victory on homecoming night. Although they don't have the extra hype of homecoming this year, the guys still have that bitter taste you get when you face off against one of your rivals. Another event happening this weekend regarding norwood, is the girls soccer team. They will be headed to Bellevue High School to look to reach the double-digit win mark. Right now the girls are 9-1-3, losing a disappointing game to divisional opponent, Northwest. Its a little bit of a drive but if you can, come out and support the lady Indians this Saturday.

Yellow or Orange?
Here we go again, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers are at it again. It's the first of two games the two AFC North rivals will play this year. Kickoff is at 4 PM sharp Sunday afternoon here at Paul Brown Stadium. The Steelers are the defending super bowl champions and the Bengals were one of the worst teams in the league last year, as lopsided as it may seem, i think this will turn out to be a good game. The Bengals defense is looking very strong this year, and so is that yellow and black offense. All I'm saying is this isn't a game you want to miss out on, so tune in and watch, that is if they sell enough tickets to air the game.
Mid-way point of 1st Quarter.
We're halfway through the first quarter and i don't know about you but I'm still in the "summertime mood." This weekend marks a crucial point in the season for the Norwood Indian's football team. Their record stands at a disappointing 1-3; losing to Purcell Marian, Wyoming, and Thurgood Marshall all of which they had a chance to compete. This week they face off against the Little Miami Panthers in what should be; a game to remember. Last year these two teams went into overtime and the Indians lost. They had a chance to finish it off in regulation with a field goal but missed wide. So head out to Little Miami and support the Indians as they try to get revenge on the Panthers.

Marc Edwards, enough said. . .
This weekend in the City of Norwood there may be a lot going on, but personally one thing seems to stick out most. Former football star Marc Edwards is coming back home for the retirement of his jersey. The retirement ceremony will take place during halftime of the Indians home-opener this Friday against Wyoming. Aside from football the Lady Indians Soccer team will take on Finneytown this saturday and look to continue their six game winning streak. Also the Volleyball team has a tri-match at Summit Country Day against Summit and New Richmond. So everyone come out this friday and saturday and support your Indians!

Sports filled weekend!
Here's what we've got coming up this weekend for the city of Norwood. On Friday the varsity football team heads across the river to face off aginst Cambell County High School in the season opener. The guys showed a lot of potential in their scrimage last week against Badin, so things look good for any hope of a possible undefeated season. On Saturday we've got a couple things happening starting early morning as the Junior Varsity team tries to start their season off in the right direction. At noon the Boy's soccer team tries to replay last year's tournament game by taking down New Richmond High School. Nothing exciting for Sunday but come out and support the indians this weekend and let them know the community is behind them all the way.
